Ackerman Lake is a small, forested trout lake along M-94 southwest of Munising. Its roadside setting makes it a practical stop for a quiet paddle, a fishing outing, or a hike in the surrounding Upper Peninsula forest.

The lake’s sheltered water is best suited to kayaks, canoes, and other small craft. The Bay de Noc–Grand Island National Recreation Trail reaches M-94 at Ackerman Lake, giving hikers a useful trail connection close to the water.

Michigan fisheries materials list Ackerman Lake as a Type B trout lake. Rainbow Trout have been stocked here, but stocking plans, seasons, size limits, and possession limits can change. - Watch for the small access near the lake; roadside and launch conditions can vary.
- The unimproved access is more appropriate for car-top boats, kayaks, and canoes than large trailered boats.
